2 killed, 4 injured in 4 Jacksonville overnight shootings

Jacksonville police say two people died and four others including a juvenile were wounded overnight in a series of four separate shootings begining Friday night in separate incidents throughout the city.

Two people died and four other victims including a juvenile were wounded during four shootings within about seven hours beginning Friday evening in separate Jacksonville neighborhoods.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office hasn’t said whether the shootings might be related.

The first shooting happened about 5:15 p.m. Friday. Police responding to a report of a shooting found a man with multiple gunshot wounds inside a car in the 800 block of A. Jacksonville Cryptocurrency News Philip Randolph Boulevard on the Eastside.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A short time later, police were notified that another shooting victim — also a man — had arrived at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives determined that man was wounded during the shooting on A. Philip Randolph. He was cooperating with detectives, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives were reviewing video from several security cameras at the shooting scene in an effort to identify who was responsible.

Police also were searching for a gray or silver Hyundai that fled south on A. Philip Randolph immediately after the shooting.

About 6:50 p.m. Friday, a 19-year-old was shot in the 6600 block of Pinocchio Drive on the Westside then walked to a Lane Avenue convenience store and called police for help, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said the victim’s injuries were serious but didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

Preliminary investigation indicted the victim was shot in a residential area. Although a house also was struck by the gunfire, none of the occupants were injured, Jacksonville Stock Market  the Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said the victim wouldn’t tell officers what happened and was not cooperating with investigators,

Detectives were searching for witnesses as well as possible security camera surveillance video, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The third shooting happened about 7:20 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Carrie Street at McQuade Street in the Robinson’s Addition neighborhood.

Police found a 39-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound in the street. He died at the hospital from his injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.


The Sheriff’s Office said it has information indicating someone fled immediately after the shooting, but the information was enough to provide a description.

Police were canvassing the area for witnesses Jacksonville Press Release , and checking for security camera surveillance video. Detectives also were encouraging residents to come forward with any information regarding the killing.

An adult and a youth were injured in the fourth shooting about 12:04 a.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of Broadway Avenue in the Woodstock neighborhood, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Police investigating a report that someone was shot discovered that there were two victims and both already had been taken to the hospital.

Both the adult and juvenile sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to Jacksonville Business News the Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they had no suspect information, and had not determined the motive.

No arrests were reported Saturday in any of the shootings.
