Two Glynn County commissioners said Gov. Brian Kemp’s decision to open Georgia beaches “undid” the precautions they had taken to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus on the Golden Isles and Brunswick.
“We’ve had a relatively flat curve in Glynn County, and for Jacksonville News that, we’re blessed,” said District 2 commissioner Peter Murphy, referring to current numbers that show 29 people in the county testing positive for the coronavirus, with no deaths. “With one fell swoop [Kemp] undid all the good we did in March.” | Read more

Health care professionals can ride Jacksonville Transportation Authority buses for free beginning Monday.

In its Sunday morning update, the Florida Department of Health reported 12,151 cases in in the state, 606 more or a 5 percent increase from the 11,545 reported just 24 hours earlier.
